Introduction to Ravisign
Ravisign is the electronic document signature platform from Ravi Systems. With it you send contracts, terms and amendments for signature, follow each step in real time and get back a digitally signed PDF, with a signature manifest, a timestamp and an audit trail that anyone can check.
The principle of the product is simple: every signed document must prove, without depending on Ravi Systems, who signed, when they signed and that nothing was changed afterwards.
Who Ravisign is for#
- Internet service providers that use ChatISP. The service agreement, the renewal and the plan change are signed in the same WhatsApp conversation in which the subscriber is being served. See How ChatISP uses Ravisign.
- Companies of any size that sign service agreements, commercial proposals, terms of use and acceptances with customers, suppliers and employees.
- Developers who want to bring signing into their own system through the public API, with webhooks to follow each event.
How it works, in five steps#
- Create the envelope. Upload a PDF or choose a template with variables (name, CPF or CNPJ, address, plan, price, term) and indicate who signs, in which role and in which order.
- Send it. Each signer receives a personal link by email or, for envelopes that originate in ChatISP, in the conversation itself.
- The signer signs. They read the document, confirm their identity with a 6-digit code, accept the terms and create their signature mark, drawn or typed, all from their phone.
- Completion. When everyone has signed, Ravisign assembles the final copy with the signature manifest, digitally signs the file with the platform certificate and applies the timestamp. Each party receives their own copy.
- Public verification. Anyone can check authenticity in the public validator, using the envelope code or the QR code printed on the manifest.
Signature levels#
Brazilian law recognizes three levels of electronic signature. The advanced level is the default in Ravisign.
| Level | How Ravisign does it | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| Simple | Acceptance through an individual access link, with evidence recorded in the audit trail | Terms of use, low-risk acceptances |
| Advanced (default) | One-time code by email or through the ChatISP conversation, explicit acceptance, signature mark, chained trail and a final copy in PAdES signed with the platform certificate and a timestamp | Service agreements, amendments, renewals and plan changes, commercial proposals |
| Qualified | The signer's own ICP-Brasil certificate | High-value contracts, public bodies, requirement of the other party |
Coming soon qualified signature, with the signer's ICP-Brasil certificate (A1, A3 or cloud), and purchase of the certificate through Ravisign itself.
Legal basis in brief#
| Regulation | What it guarantees |
|---|---|
| MP 2.200-2/2001, art. 10, § 1º | Presumption of authenticity for signatures with an ICP-Brasil certificate |
| MP 2.200-2/2001, art. 10, § 2º | Validity of other means of proving authorship and integrity, when accepted by the parties |
| Law 14.063/2020 | Classification of electronic signatures as simple, advanced and qualified |
| CPC (Code of Civil Procedure), art. 784, § 4º (Law 14.620/2023) | Electronic extrajudicial enforceable instrument with any electronic signature provided for by law, with witnesses waived when integrity is verified by a signature provider |
In practice, a contract signed at the advanced level includes a clause in which the parties recognize the electronic signature through Ravisign as valid, under art. 10, § 2º, of MP 2.200-2/2001. The signer expressly accepts this clause before signing.
Note this summary is for information only and does not replace advice from a lawyer. For high-value contracts or when the other party requires it, prefer the qualified signature.
